The ECS was founded by locally renowned musician and conductor Frankie Ayers in November 2016 and is an amateur orchestra in East Anglia formed of friendly and talented local musicians from Norfolk, Suffolk and other surrounding parts of East Anglia.

The orchestra aims to provide live music to the local area by giving three or more concerts a year. We also aim encourage any musicians in the surrounding communities that have not yet had the opportunity or experience to play or perform in such an orchestra.

or . . . maybe they use to play and miss it.

East Coast Sinfonietta performing at the White Horse in chedgrave

On Saturday 10th June 2023 we performed at The White Horse in Chedgrave for the promers of Chedgrave and Loddon for the annual Last Afternoon of the Proms. This concert is usually n September on the same day as the BBC Last night of the proms however it was postponed until June this year and what a turnout there was with such fantastic weather. We were very lucky!

The orchestra were joined by the East Coast Sinfonietta Singers for the very first time on Thursday 2nd June 2022 at Sparrows Nest, Lowestoft for a performance organised by Lowestoft Town Council for the people of Lowestoft to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen on her Platinum Jubilee.
